Rotation speed of cone reamer

The rotation speed and tension of the cone reamer are very important parameters, but unfortunately, many drilling rig manufacturers do not have the number of turns per minute of the drill pipe on the instrument.

As a drilling tool manufacturer for more than ten years, there is an opportunity to compare the use of various roller cone bits, such as roller cone bits in the oil field, in the non-excavation field, in the field of rotary piling, under different working environments, the drill bit from the beginning of the hole to the final scrap, the wear process is very different.

The petroleum field is very important to a country. There are some petroleum universities in China, which have drilling specialties for drilling. The instrument panel on oil drilling can display a series of parameters of drill bit, drill string and drilling fluid. There are many professional fishing tools and high-end measurement while drilling tools on oil drilling. There are many practical technologies that can be directly moved to the trenchless field, and some need to be modified before moving to the trenchless field.

The roller cone bit is also directly moved from the field of oil drilling to the trenchless field. In the field of oil or water well drilling, especially in shallow drilling, the use ratio of rubber-sealed roller cone bits far exceeds that of metal seals. However, the proportion of metal-sealed cone bits selected in the trenchless field far exceeds that of rubber seals, which also arouses our curiosity.

After market research, we found that many drilling rig manufacturers do not have a tachometer, and many users rarely pay attention to the number of revolutions per minute of the cone. There are two main parameters for the use of roller bits, one is the weight on bit and the other is the speed (rpm). If the speed of the cone per minute exceeds the range of use, the rubber ring will soon fail or the sealing performance will decrease, causing the bearing to enter the sediment, thus shortening the life. Since the speed of the metal seal is about twice the speed of the rubber seal, the metal seal will not be disturbed by the high speed, or the interference is much smaller.

After the above analysis, we suggest that when using rubber-sealed cone bits or reamers, we must pay attention to controlling the rotation speed. While reducing the rotation speed, we should appropriately increase the pulling force (we find that the pulling force of many reamers in construction is at a lower level), so as to achieve the expected footage speed.
