How to extend the service life of the drill string

One of the common problems with drill pipes is thread damage, which can be prevented by keeping the threads clean. If you remove the drill pipe from the frame, be sure to use a thread protector to protect the thread. Each thread shall be coated with copper-based thread grease prior to threading. Thread grease helps prevent wear, provides a good seal and controls friction performance. Ensure that the threads of the driver chuck or short are intact. The threads on the driver chuck or short splice will be made up with the threads on each drill rod, so a quick visual inspection or inspection using a thread profile will improve the life of the entire drill string.
